Feel Good Fridays: Monstars Anthem

I'm coaching youth basketball this year. Saturday we had our first game and fought through the season-opener jitters, overcoming a twelve point deficit only to lose by one. Tomorrow we plan to put it on the opposition. Monstar stylee. "Wildcats on 3".

Throwback Thursdays: Naughty by Nature

(creepy voyeristic photo courtesy of Lindsey Gates Markel)

Last week in Cambridge, I had a chance to chat up author Steve Almond (who was the commencement speaker at my wife's graduation). We talked briefly about Ike Reilly and Naughty by Nature. This remains my favorite NBN track. Dig.

Way Gone Wednesdays: Star Wars Uncut

About 3 years ago, Syd and I took part in a crowd sourcing project that aspired to recreate Star Wars (epsiode IV) shot for shot - in 15 second incriments. We selected our scene (the one where Obi Wan finds Luke knocked out after getting gang raped by Sand People), shot it and sent it in. Each scene could be tackled by up to 3 people - ours did not make the cut (the one they chose is FANTASTIC) but it was fun just the same. So, 3 years later, here it is in all it's glory........

Real Talk Tuesdays: 21st Annual Great Cover Up

The 21st Annual Great Cover Up was this past week and I missed the whole damn thing. We were out of town so for only the second time in 11 years, I did not participate. It was fun to check online to see the videos and pics start to pour in after each night. And after watching the highlights from the closing session (Thursday, January 19th) I'm convinced that it was the greatest night in Cover Up history. And I missed it.

Madhouse Mondays: Dope Zebra

This is my favorite thing, ever, on the internet. Props to Rhett & Link (and especially the dancers, Flitz Ricketts and Steve Smith). I want this T-shirt.
